Inglewood Police are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunman responsible for killing dancer M-Bone of the rap group Cali Swag District.
Police are hopeful the reward will entice witnesses to come forward with information in the death of M-Bone, whose real name was Monte Ray Talbert.
“People are out during all hours of the day in Los Angeles and see all sorts of things,” said Sgt. Dirk Dewachter of the Inglewood Police Department.
He said many witnesses do not come forward out of fear of retaliation.
Talbert’s relatives and Inglewood police officers will distribute fliers Friday afternoon around the 400 block of North La Brea Avenue, the area where Talbert was shot.
“We will try to explore all avenues and resources,” Dewachter said.
Talbert was killed May 15 when a gunman pulled up alongside his car and shot him twice in the head, we reported.
Cali Swag District was known for the song and accompanying dance “Teach Me How to Dougie.”
Inglewood homicide detectives ask anyone with any information to call (310) 412-5246.
