Shaquille O’Neal’s former mistress, Vanessa Lopez, plans on deposing the ex-NBA star’s Laker teammate, Kobe Bryant, in her lawsuit against Shaq.
According to Jen Heger at RadarOnline:
Lopez filed a lawsuit against O’Neal in Orange County, Florida, for intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault. Lopez claims Shaq started harassing her shortly after she told him she thought she was pregnant. She says the former NBA center initially accused her of sleeping with someone else and when she broke off their relationship she claims the threats began. Shaq tried to get the lawsuit dismissed, but his motion was denied.
According to NBC Sports, during the criminal investigation Bryant allegedly told cops that Shaq “had paid up to $1 million in hush money to various women.” O’Neal denied the charge at the time and the rape charge against Brant was subsequently dropped after he reached an undisclosed financial settlement with the accuser. Lopez wants know what advice the retired basketball player gave to Bryant during the time he was under investigation for allegedly raping a woman in Colorado.
“There are plans to depose Kobe Bryant because he has information about advice Shaq allegedly gave him about paying off the woman who was accusing him of rape,” a source close to the situation tells Radar. “This goes to the heart of Vanessa’s claims against Shaq and the jury will definitely want to hear what Kobe has to say. There is still no love lost between Shaq and Kobe and the two men can barely stand to be in the same room together even though they have publicly said they have made up. Kobe doesn’t want to be dragged into Shaq’s mess.”
Lopez’s famed attorneys, Gloria Allred & Nathan Goldberg, have filed a motion asking that the trial be televised. The trial has been set for March 25, 2013. It’s expected that both O’Neal and Lopez will testify. A pretrial conference is scheduled for March 18, 2013.
If it don’t fit you must acquit…
Shaquille Oneal formally of the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavs, Phoenix Suns, and almost every other team in the NBA, has decided to keep up his relentless jabs at Dwight Howard. Check out the latest quote from the Big Aristotle.
“We as players, we always watch people before us. When I came in it was Patrick Ewing and Hakeem Olajuwan, guys who played like true centers who played inside. What we have now are centers that are going to the European style, which is a lot of pick-and-roll. Dwight Howard, who’s a pick-and-roll player, some people say he’s the best center in the league, but me being an old-school center, I’m going to go with Robin Lopez and Andrew Bynum because they play with their back to the basket.”
First of all Snaq: Robin Lopez is the wrong guy we think you mean his twin brother Brook Lopez and even if you do mean Brook Lopez theres no way he’s better than Dwight Howard. Check out the next quotes from Snaq Oneal. Continue reading
Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant scored 48 points against the Phoenix Suns, making him the first player to score over 40 points in a game after playing at least 15 years in the NBA. Kobe is also playing with torn tendons in his shooting wrist which require pain numbing shots before each game. This makes his scoring output even more impressive. Our Lakers sources have been on record saying “If this was any other player in the league they would not be playing”. Continue reading
