Funny, witty and smart, Rhea Bea got her start in radio while studying broadcast journalism at Hampton University in Virginia. As a student, she worked as a disc jockey at the institution’s radio station, WHOV 88.1 FM. Post graduation, Rhea returned to her hometown of Los Angeles, CA where she landed a job assisting the Director of Marketing of Emmis Communication’s 93.9 KZLA and Power 106 FM. While at Emmis, Rhea recorded a number of on-air commercials and voice overs, which eventually led her to an on-air gig at Stevie Wonder’s 102.3 KJLH. For three years, Rhea brought heat to the airwaves on L.A.’s #1 Saturday night show, “The Mixdown” with her segment entitled “Word Has It” based on celebrity gossip. Don’t be fooled by her cool, laid-back demeanor. She’s just as sassy as she is sweet. Her talent on the mic led her to host “Idols Live” for Season 9 of American Idol as well as a number of other events in the Los Angeles area.
Aside from radio, Rhea is a talented journalist and is the Los Angeles Urban Entertainment Examiner for AEG’s examiner.com. Her bubbly and fun personality will leave you craving for more.
