Blake Griffin Says Terrell Owens Begged Clippers Coaches For A 10-Day Contract

The former NFL wide receiver was cut by the Seattle Seahawks before the start of the season and has been unable to land on a team since.

Now, Blake Griffin of the L.A. Clippers says T.O. was begging for an NBA gig over the summer.

Griffin dropped dime on Owens’ plan B of stressing the Clippers coaches for a shot at playing in the Assocation. “Terrell Owens is always — he was at our practice facility this summer, begging coaches for a 10-day contract,” said Griffin said on the Dan Patrick Show, NBC sports reports.

To his credit, Owens did play basketball at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and knows his way around the court. However, he is 39, had a torn ACL and took an L in a one on one game versus streetballer, who also happened to be a little person, which was caught on video. That’s without mentioning the personal and financial troubles he has been in the news for, including getting cut from an Indoor Football League team and revealing in child support documents that he earned only $28 an hour while trying to make the Seahawks.

The way The Lakers are playing there may be a spot for him on the bench at The Staple Center…Just sayin’!

Stephon Marbury To Mistress: “I’m Not Paying You Any More Hush Money”

Ex-NBA star Stephon Marbury is refusing to pay another cent in hush money to a former mistress — who worked as his private chef back in 2006 — claiming his ex-lover isn’t entitled to any cash … because she blabbed their little secret to the world.

Stephon’s mistress Thurayyah Mitchell — filed court docs back in October, trying to force Marbury to make good on the $300,000 he allegedly owed her as part of their confidentiality agreement.

Mitchell claimed Marbury — who’s married with kids — agreed to pay her $900,000 in exchange for her silence regarding the 2006 affair, but stopped making payments in 2010 … after only coughing up $600,000.

The arbitrator ruled in Mitchell’s favor, ordering Marbury to pay her an additional $330,000 — but now, he’s refusing to pay that sum.

Marbury has just filed legal docs of his own, insisting Mitchell gave up her right to that money by publicly filing court docs that detailed her affair with the basketball player.

According to Marbury, the documents violated the confidentiality agreement because they were filed publicly rather than under seal.

A judge has yet to decide whether Mitchell gets her money or not.

Hector ‘Macho’ Camacho is brain dead, doctors say

Famed Puerto Rican boxer Hector “Macho” Camacho is clinically brain dead, doctors said Thursday, though they said family members were disagreeing on whether to take him off life support.

Dr. Ernesto Torres said doctors have finished performing all medical tests on Camacho, who was shot in the face Tuesday night.

“We have done everything we could,” said Torres, who is the director of the Centro Medico trauma center in San Juan. “We have to tell the people of Puerto Rico and the entire world that Macho Camacho has died, he is brain dead.”

He said at a news conference that the family expects to say by Friday if Camacho should remain on life support.

Torres said Camacho’s father has already indicated that he wants the boxer taken off life support and his organs donated, but one of his sisters opposes the idea.

Time Warner Cable, DirecTV reach deal to air Lakers games

Lakers fans with DirecTV will now be able to watch their team play after a broadcast deal with Time Warner Sports came about on Thursday.

After a long and frustrating wait, DirecTV customers will finally be able to see Lakersbroadcasts. A deal between the cable provider and Time Warner Sports has been agreed upon, according to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times.

While additional details are still to come, DirecTV is expected to be carrying Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes in the coming days.

Virtually every other major cable provider in the Los Angeles market (aside from Dish Network) had already reached an agreement with Time Warner SportsNet, which had many DirecTV subscribers up in arms over the delay. DirecTV serves nearly 25 percent of the market, and is popular choice of provider at many sports bars in the Los Angeles and Orange County area, which left many Lakers fans high and dry this season.

Representatives from both DirecTV and TWC SportNet did not give an official update on when the service would start other than to say negotiations are ongoing.

Sit tight Lakers fans/DirecTV subscribers. The wait is nearly over.
