Are We Saying Goodbye To The Simpsons

Okay we all know some major networks have taken hits this year like All My Children, As the World Turns, and the powerhouse Oprah show.

“The Simpsons” is the longest-running comedy series on U.S. television and is currently in its 23rd season on Fox. The show also generates billions of dollars through global syndication, as well as DVD and merchandise sales.

According to the Chicago Tribune, contract negotiations has threatened the matrix of the TV Guide grid.  It appears that there is trouble in TV paradise over in the virtual town of Springfield. The Simpsons may be getting evicted.

The network home of the show, 20th Century Fox, is crying broke!  They say they can’t afford to produce the show at the wages they presently pay characters:  Homer (Dan Castellaneta), Marge (Julie Kavner), Bart (Nancy Cartwright) and Lisa (Yeardley Smith) they currently see them earning around $8 million each per season. They want to take nearly half of their pay away in order to run a season finale.  To Read more..
