This pass Saturday night, the recently-released from jail rapper hosted an after-party for the BET Hip-Hop Awards at Atlanta hot spot Club Compound with Diddy.
Over the course of the night it became clear that it was T.I.’s responsibility to make sure the night went smoothly.
When Diddy got mad at a partygoer who was brandishing a bottle of Grey Goose vodka instead of the hip-hop honcho’s own Ciroc brand, T.I.’s mediating skills came in useful.
In a video of the incident obtained by GrindHD.com, Diddy, a shareholder in Ciroc, can be seen on a microphone causing a scene, tossing ice at the man and eventually snatching a cup out of the audience member’s hand.
Jumping in to diffuse the situation, T.I., 31, took the microphone away from Diddy, 41, and shared some wise and sensible words with his friend.
“Puff, you got too much money,” he said, dissuading Diddy from arguing with the partygoer.
T.I., who is himself still on probation, told Diddy to just let clubgoers drink what they wanted.
T.I. made clear that he would definitely throw down if Diddy needed him, but that this particular situation called for stepping back.
“I love you and will go to war for you,” the rapper said, “but come on man!”
